U.S. Coast Guard / U.S. Homeland Security
SAFE Boats is a major supplier to the U.S. Coast Guard’s (USCG) small boats fleet. The USCG uses SAFE vessels for diverse missions including homeland security, patrol, maritime law enforcement, marine environmental protection, search and rescue, and aids to navigation. Prior to standardization of the fleet, SAFE manufactured and delivered hundreds of configurations of boats to the USCG, beyond what is showcased below. When standardization became a priority post-9/11, SAFE delivered platforms that met and exceeded all requirements.
Response Boat-Small (RB-S) (RBH-S)
The USCG post-9/11 required a platform that could out-accelerate and out-maneuver anything in its size. With a sub-four-second zero-to-plane time, F-16-like handling and a top speed that smashes the 40-knot requirement, the Response Boat–Small (RB-S) (and RB-HS) is the perfect fast response security, search and rescue or law enforcement platform. A 102-inch beam and low profile make it easy to trailer, store or load onto a C130 aircraft within minutes. This vessel's impressive operational capabilities are the result of years of evolution as a USCG Non Standard boat.
Special Purpose Craft-Law Enforcement (SPC-LE)
The Special Purpose Craft-Law Enforcement (SPC-LE) is a standardized vessel for the USCG and is deployed to stations throughout the country. The larger counterpart to the RB-S, the SPC-LE has a longer range, greater crew capacity and superior speed, enhancing even further the capability the RB-S brought to the USCG fleet.
The Special Purpose Craft-Near Shore Life Boat (SPC-NLB) is a self-righting, shallow draft, fast response surf boat for use in heavy weather conditions in coastal areas.
