TACOMA -MIG Aluminum Welder


Job Description:

Under limited supervision, performs complex welding in construction of hulls and buildings. Builds fuel tanks, pressure tests hulls, installs house (cabin), or T-Top assembly on boat. Operates TIG and MIG welding machines, grinder, wire brush and other small hand tools. Small amounts of TIG welding maybe required. Secures small parts for assembly & welding, keeps work area professionally neat and secure.  Must possess solid supervisory and leadership skills

 

Hours:

Full time
Day Shift:  6am to 4:30 pm M-Th
OR
Swing Shift 3:30 pm to 2:00 am M-Th

Salary:

Depends on Experience

Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to take and folow directions as given by a Manager
  • Work as a Team Player
  • Proficient in advance welding techniques. MIG aluminum welding preferred.
  •  Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbology
  • Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials
  • Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.)
  • Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools
  • Safety and Housekeeping
  • Hands-on Supervisory and Leadership capabilities and experience


Minimum Educational Requirements:

  • High School diploma, or equivalent, and:
  • Successful completion of an internal welding test
  • Five years experience in various forms of welding, aluminum preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Position requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to complete tasks
